CMAR sharing knowledge, creating local job opportunities
A few months ago, CMAR board was invited by General Boots at the Naval Base Parera to introduce CMAR to the Navy and Coastguard as important stakeholders in the port of Curacao.
During this meeting, one of the topics was the resources expansion the Coastguard want to do locally.
CMAR board raised the reply, perhaps we can help? What exactly do you need? Did you talk with KTK Tugs, where unfortunately, due to the economic crisis, several maritime skilled people have lost their job, recently?
Despite the close relation they have with the local government, the Coastguard was not aware of this and on introduction by us, Coastguard is in contact with KTK Tugs searching for former KTK Tugs professionals to fill in their outstanding vacancies.
If additional training or courses are needed, we can direct those employees to other associated members for further assistance.
Sharing knowledge and being the bridge between various companies in Curaçao Maritime Industry is what CMAR stands for.
We are very pleased to see that members can already pick the fruits of the seeds we planted, by creating this maritime sector association.
